In September 2015, volunteers with nonprofit GRID Alternatives installed solar on the home of Maria and Jose Martinez in Cotati, California as part of a partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County. Parents of two small children, the Martinez’s have worked hard to provide for their family, Jose as a tile layer and Maria as a medical worker, but paying the bills was always a struggle. Now, they are saving 75% off their electricity bill with solar, money they can use to build a better future. Their home was one of four Habitat Sonoma County projects, which provided hands-on solar installation experience to nearly fifty individuals, including youth from the North Bay Conservation Corps.

Customer Testimonial

“As the nation’s largest nonprofit solar installer, GRID Alternatives depends on product donations to help bring solar to families that otherwise would not be able to afford it, and train men and women for jobs in the industry at the same time. SnapNrack has been providing equipment to support GRID’s mission since 2014. Ease of installation is important when working with volunteers. Many volunteers have never even been on a roof before coming out, so easy installation helps us focus more on safety.”
